Yes, as far as I know svgalib has problems with RedHat only.

Presumably you have a horisontal trace on the screen.
This means the device looks ok to Linrad, it sends
data of some kind.

Try the "+" key to magnify. You need about 10V peak to peak for
full screen using the Delta44. I tried Delta44 driver of
SuSE 7.3 and that did not work. A long time has passed, I
have seen ALSA running ok at 48 kHz with Delta44 long time ago.

When you type "U" on the main menu you probably get several devices
to choose from for input. Try the other ones.
