[linrad] AW: [linrad] Linrad-02.pre

Hello Leif,

yesterday I went further into the problem, also having done a short question on M-Audio's support: Actually it was the input impedance of the 1496 that lowered the level. Just a simple opamp driver with gain=1 driven by a 9v battery does it.

I have somehow not recognized that windows. Can you please somehow set me on the rails? Maybe only point me to the file in the linrad archive?

Linrad-02.pre.02
For experienced Linrad users only Multithreaded Linrad for
Linux and Microsoft Windows 98, 2000 and XP will come with
the linrad-02.xx series.

Here is an experimental package for experienced Linrad users.
lir02p02.tbz(399302 bytes) The package should compile and run
under any Linux distribution. The command "make linrad.exe"
will require GLIBC_2.3 if mingw32.tar.bz2 (11 665 983 bytes)
is installed. If you want to try Linrad-02.pre.02 on a Windows
machine, download w102p02.zip (254239 bytes) and uncompress
it into C:\linrad and run linrad.exe from there.

Linrad-02.pre.02 is not fully adapted to the multi-threaded
structure. Screen writes still occur from several threads
and therefore the text colour becomes incorrect occasionally.
The screen is not repainted under Windows after a Windows
window resize. Processing may be stopped or started incorrectly
after parameter changes and the program may even crasch after
a parameter change that leads to a memory reorganization.
All these problems are similar both under Linux and Windows.

If you are familiar to Linrad, you should be able to run it
reasonably well under Windows 98, 2000 or XP by not changing
bandwidth or other baseband parameters while a signal is selected.
It is too early for bug reports, on the behaviour of Linrad-02
itself, but reports on problems encountered with the build
system under any Linux distribution or the hardware interface,
selecting screens, fonts, or soundcards under Windows as well
as Linux are welcome.
