The Delta44 audio board samples at 96kHz maximum and nominally is samples 24 bit data. The effective number of bits is smaller, and at 96 kHz the effective number of bits is only about 16.3. Treating only the 16 most significant bits causes a loss of dynamic range by only 2dB and therefore the timings are given below for processing data in the 16 bit format as well as the 32 bit format.
