Re: [linrad] QEX Sept/Oct 2003 & AOR's Newest Offering

   Hi Bob and Colbern,

Though I never had a long and deep look in Leif's software source code
package, I do not believe that any of those functions is implemented yet.
I am not even sure they are planned in the future.

At present, Linrad is basically a dual channel LF spectrum analyser
with filtering very effective noise blanking capabilities in software
and a good sound card plus computer.

Leif has made big efforts to maintain the NF and dynamic range
of whatever proceeds Linrad back to the antenna, receiver,
converters ,etc. to mix the uW/UHF/VHF/RF/LF down to the audio input
frequency spectrum of the sound card, a Delta44 as the top of the
line at present. ( dual channel, low noise, high dynamic range

Up to this point, it is all in software and the connection
from the VHF/HF/LF side to linrad is done with 1 ( 2 ) wires.

Besides the software that makes up Linrad Leif has
designed optimized hardware to mix down IF VHF signals to audio
   signals. ( 144, 70, 10, 2.5 MHz )

   see: http://www.antennspecialisten.se/en/index.html#

look under Under "HAM/LMR" ( English version )

So a comparison between a hardware modem, the ARD9800 and
an audio processing software package, Linrad, is
   difficult to make.

One could compare the functions and specs of Linrad to
the same functions, if any, provided by the ARD9800 unit.

But that is like apples oranges.

Down at the links portion you find a better link to the
hardware section that can be used with Linrad.
