Henk,

    Just a guess, but did you place the tar file in a directory call "lir" 
and then give the command tar xvf lir0056.tar?   If you did this you will 
have a lir directory inside the lir directory that the tar file is in.   If 
this is the case you need to cd into the lir directory that has all the 
files and then follow Leif's instructions.
