[linrad] Debian

As recommended by Leif, I am about to try the Debian.

At present times I have the choice between 3.0R1 which is rater old
(files build in 2003) and 3.0R4 (files build in 2005) 
Is this the difference between Woody and Sarge ?

Both of them comes as a set of 7 CD-Roms (+2 updates CD for the 3.0R4)

As this is not a 14 CD-Rom set, I think this is not the good set of
files. Could anybody give me a good start with Debian ?
