It is weird that it is trying to install it into three directories.

Does the make process create the .o file.  If so you might try
insmod svgalib_helper.o

I'm not sure what the module name is right now.  If that works then you
can manually copy the file into the /lib/modules/<VERSION> directory.

You may also need to be running the make as root so you have permissions
to install into /lib/modules
